The boldest-ever subject, which is a breakthrough in Indian cinema, is creating phenomenal social media and online buzz on channels such as Facebook. Avant Garde Productions’ ‘Chitkabrey’, produced and directed by Engineer turned filmmaker Suneet Arora, is now taking the social media networks by storm after having won rave reviews at the prestigious International Film Festivals in India and abroad.
Interestingly, online buzz is compounded by the fact that Chitkabrey is catching on with the younger generation as well as the film industry circles. Chitkhabrey combines the best of India’s commercial and meaningful artforms to create a plot that lingers in memory for a long time after the credits roll over. For a debutante filmmaker, the effort is extremely commendable and memorable.
Watched by several prominent personalities- Suneet Arora’s debut film is an eagerly awaited one because of the fabulous fast- paced thrilling plot with exciting twists and turns that has been enacted by a marquee starcast. And film aficionados, filmmakers and critics praised Suneet Arora for redefining ‘crossover’ filmmaking!
Suneet exclaims, “It is a great honour and privilege to know that Chitkabrey-Shades of Grey” is making waves online. The first-of-its-kind film is all about the intricacies of relationships in a world that is becoming smaller and smaller due to the fast-paced digital and technological revolution.” Suneet, who will redefine crossover film, explains, “The complexities of relationships always intrigued me. I have always been an avid learner and observer. I was always curious about the extreme variation in the relationships across the globe. Chitkabrey is an ode to the experiences that I had while interacting with people across the globe. It’s about all aspects of life that I have seen and encountered.”
Speaking about the film, (change this part to an actual personality), “Kudos To Suneet Arora for daring to dream differently and creating compelling content. Chitkhabrey is worthy of being pronounced as the best of Indian cinema to be showcased at the international film festival. The racy pace of storytelling will win him several fans.”With an interesting name like “Chitkabrey-Shades of Grey”, Suneet has got together an ensemble cast for the thriller drama. In a plot that includes 7 couples going through stress tests, Bollywood-cum-Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishan plays the male protagonist for the first time. The rest of the cast includes: Ravi Kishan, Amit Bhardwaj, Kuldip Dubey, Akshay Singh, Bobby Vats, Sanjay Swaraj, Vishwanath Chatterjee, Rahul Singh, Rajesh Shringapurey, Jaswinder Gardner, Khushboo Gupta, Sweetlana Manolyo, Divya Dwivedi, Sussana Mohan, Puja Gupta and Akksharra Gowda amongst others. And the first look is sheer magic.
The latest entrant into the film making space is highly qualified software businessman You may be tempted to call him the Nagesh Kukunoor of the new decade but wait a minute… he is different! Meet Suneet Arora, who was born and brought up in Punjab, and makes his dream debut with an interesting film titled “Chitkabrey-Shades of Grey” by Avant Garde Productions. Many moons back, Nagesh Kukunoor wrote history with his brilliant “Hyderabad Blues” but Suneet Arora is confident of going several miles ahead with a sensitive film that will stir the heart, grip the mind and free the soul!
Whew! only an engineer like Suneet can venture into the realms of relationships vis-à-vis technological progress. The film traverses different geographies and encapsulates Suneet’s experience as he travelled from a small town called Abohar (Punjab) to Bengaluru to study engineering and then came to Mumbai to obtain his MBAdegree-but dropped out to become a true entrepreneur. Globe-trotter Suneet proceeded to the Silicon Valley in California and Canada and several parts of the world. Relationships fascinated me even when I started working in the Reliance Group and then ventured into my own business of computer hardware and later software in the dot com boom. During my globe-trotting days too,” he says.
Suneet philosophizes, “I always wanted to direct a film and while studying engineering, I decided that I shall surely fulfill my dream. During my college days, I read and discussed about movie making the entire time. However, I had no choice but to be Eklavaya because the first preference went to completing my academics and formal education. However, my burning passion for filmmaking loomed large like the submerged glacier below the tip of the iceberg. But unlike, Eklavya, I am not here to cut my thumb but want to compete with present Arjuns and present the movie the way I see it. I scrutinised the market convinced my family and then pursued a dream.”
The screenplay and dialogues by Sanjay Massoomm is hard-hittingly realistic to the core. The music by Akshay Bafila captures the mood and melody of a sensitive film that will stir hearts and minds. The lyrics by Rajesh Shrivastav and supratim sen compliment the ambience, characterizations and picturisation. The camera work by Rajkumar is brilliant as it moves across geographies and mindsets. The production by Firoz Baghban is sync with the best of the world.
